MISSION STATEMENT

OF

ST. MICHAEL’S COLLEGE

St. Michael’s College was founded in 1944 by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit (The Spiritans), as a Catholic Junior School for boys. It was extended in 1975 to be a full Secondary School. Today it operates through a partnership of laity and religious.

The School is under the patronage of St. Michael, the Archangel, whose personal challenge, "Quis ut Deus", "Who is like unto God", serves both as a motto and a challenge for the school.

The aims of St. Michael’s are:

• To create an environment which nurtures Faith, one which will not only provide students with an informed understanding of the Catholic Faith, but which will also motivate them to live their personal lives in accordance with gospel values.

• To provide a community environment in which each student can develop his full potential.

• To encourage each student to live his life as a responsible member of society, initially as a student, later as an adult.

• To prepare and equip each student for the pursuit of an appropriate career.

• To transmit to the students an appreciation of their cultural heritage.

• To promote parental collaboration in the educational programme of the school.

(These aims are not listed in order of priority)
